To implement the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer,  on August 20, 2020, the Government of the Republic of Armenia approved the list of hydrofluorocarbons («F» gases) which were included in the scope of legal regulations of the mentioned Protocol due to that change.

The import of hydrofluorocarbons into the EEU customs territory started on April 18, 2021, on the basis of a license issued by the Ministry of Environment.

On September 28, 2021, a working discussion-meeting took place with the customs officers. In the process of customs clearance of materials, the customs officers needed clarification during the implementation of the legal provisions.

Accordingly, NOU Coordinator Liana Ghahramanyan and the project team advised customs officials on problematic issues. During the meeting, an agreement was reached to apply to the Refrigeration Association of Armenian with a request to prepare an information sheet on refrigerant mixtures.
