A series of events were organized within the framework of the National Ozone Unit dedicated to 16 September, the International Ozone Day, the main objective of which was to raise public awareness and the coverage of the sector-related processes.
This has been a year of record-breaking heat around the world. It is also a pivotal time for climate action.
On July 24, 2018 a working meeting entitled «Kigali amendment to the Montreal Protocol as a Bridge between the Ozone Layer Protection and Climate Change Mitigation Actions» was held at the UN Office.
The National Ozone Unit of the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA launched a series of initiatives dedicated to the ultraviolet radiation (UV), its potential dangers and means of protection. These initiatives are specific in terms of the target group - children aged 0 to 14 years, given their ultimate vulnerability to UV radiation.
On 12-13 May, 2018 a preparatory meeting took place in the ‹‹SunChild›› Eco-club of Urtsadzor community within the framework of the ‹‹Enabling activities for HFC phase-down›› project.
On 9-10 April, 2018 the National Ozone Unit participated in awareness seminars held by the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA at Jon Kirakosyan basic school N 20 and  Grigor Zohrap high school N 97, attended by over 80 students.
On April 4 a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Nature Protection and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia over the implementation of “HCFC Phase-out project (Phase II) in Armenia” at the UN Conference Hall .
On March 3, 2018 Ms. Liana Ghahramanyan, the coordinator of the National Ozone Unit of the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA, visited Aghavnadzor where the National Scout Movement of Armenia (NSMA) was holding an “A level” training for 28 young scouts. The comprehensive training programme covered various topics including “The Ozone Layer and Us” module, consisting of the following sections:
