«EcՕzone: Frige Waste Art» exhibition dedicated to the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer is organized jointly with the "For Equal Rights" Educational Center NGO within the framework of the «Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building» Project.
This year, we celebrate 35 years of the Vienna Convention and 35 years of global ozone layer protection. Life on Earth would not be possible without sunlight. But the energy emanating from the sun would be too much for life on Earth to thrive were it not for the ozone layer. This stratospheric layer shields Earth from most of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet radiation.
On August 14 2020, a meeting of the working group on the adoption of the EN 378-1-2020 standard took place. During the meeting the RAC specialists together with the national ozone officer discussed the terminology in Armenian used in the text of the standard.
Due to the high intensity of UV radiation during the summer months, the National Ozone Unit installed information posters at bus stops in the administrative districts of Yerevan.
Held annually on 26 June, the World Refrigeration Day was created to raise awareness about the importance of refrigeration technologies in everyday life and to raise the profile of the refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat-pump sector. On this occasion, the National Ozone Unit presents the Armenian version of "Cold Chain 4 Life" information posters, which can be guidelines for both professionals, the state and citizens.

On June 10 2020, Ms. Liana Ghahramanyan, National Coordinator of the Ozone Program at the Ministry of Environment, spoke on the Public Radio about Armenia's efforts to restore the ozone layer. She was pleased to note that the work over the past years has not been in vain, and the restoration of the ozone layer was being observed. Ms. Ghahramanyan urged everyone to protect the ozone layer on the personal level.
World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 all over the world. As you know the ozone layer is one of the most important parts of the environment, which protects life on Earth from the sun's ultraviolet rays.
