
On March 2, 2023, the second phase of the series of environmental awareness-raising meetings was launched by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia with the participation of 100 students from Yerevan High School № 118 named after A. Yerznkyan, Primary School № 194 named after A. Hovhannisyan, Primary School № 8 named after A. Pushkin, Primary School № 130 named after N. Zaryan and "Vardank" Educational Complex under the "Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building" project jointly implemented with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
The purpose of the event is to introduce the young generation to various environmental developments, providing an opportunity to become aware of current issues and participate in finding possible solutions.
The meetings will take place every Thursday and Friday, during which the issue of the ozone layer protection will be addressed with an ecosystem approach in the context of the following topics:
- Atmospheric air pollution,
- Climate change Water conservation,
- Plastic waste sorting and recycling,
- Conservation of land and underground resources,
- Specially protected areas of nature and biodiversity,
- Protection of forest resources,
- Electric vehicles.
At the end of March, final meetings will be held, during which the students, having developed a detailed understanding of the environmental issues, will present their views and approaches.
