A consumer behavior study has been initiated as part of the small-scale project "Additional activities for maintaining energy-efficiency in the refrigeration servicing sector (Decision 89/6)" jointly implemented by the Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Environment Program. The study is being conducted in collaboration with Vega World LLC, within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation in 2024 between the Ministry of Environment and the company.
On September 2, 2024, a meeting took place between the branch directors of Vega World LLC, experts from the National Ozone Unit, and the National Coordinator of the Montreal Protocol in Armenia. During the discussion, the purpose, format, importance, timeline, and expected outcomes of the survey were presented.
A decision was made to conduct the survey in three major branches of the company - Malatia-Sebastia, Arabkir, and Nor Nork districts - since these locations account for approximately 80% of the visitors.
The study aims to identify key behavioral patterns of potential buyers when purchasing refrigeration and air conditioning systems, with a particular focus on how energy efficiency impacts their decisions. Based on the findings, two promotional videos and two infographics will be created in collaboration with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. These promotional materials will help raise public awareness about the direct nexus between choosing energy-efficient devices and reducing their negative environmental impact.
