Handbook on Standardization in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Sector
23.04.2025

The handbook titled "Standardization in the Field of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning" has been developed within the framework of the "Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building" project implemented by the Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and in collaboration with the National Body for Standardization and Metrology.

Previously, during the panel discussion on the importance of national standards held at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, which was also attended by representatives of the professional community, including lecturers, RAC specialists, experts, students, and PhD candidates, the link between ozone layer protection and standards, as well as their application in the refrigeration sector, was addressed.

As a result, a proposal was made to develop a handbook on standardization that would briefly present the role of standards used in the refrigeration sector, the types of standards, and the procedures for obtaining and applying them. College representatives also emphasized the necessity of such a handbook, noting that while standards are mentioned in the curricula, the available information is insufficient.
