On 19 December, 2018 training of 40 specialists in the field of RAC (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning)system took place in «Hyatt place» hotel in the framework of HCFC Phase-out project, Phase II. The meeting was aimed at introducing the participants to the best practices in the field, taking into account the latest progress in the Montreal Protocol, the steps undertaken by the Republic of Armenia in this direction, and the peculiarities of the technology of natural refrigerants, which gradually gains a larger market share.
Selection of technicians was carried out by a national expert based on the scope of technicians’ operational activity and geographical distribution. The training was conducted by Mr. Artur Mkrtchyan, a responsible engineer for electromechanical equipment at Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport. During the course the trainer presented the best experience of installing, servicing and maintaining RAC equipment, the features of servicing the installations on natural refrigerants, and the importance of maintaining safety rules. In addition, annual and monthly inspection checklists for air conditioning services were introduced, which could be used to improve the efficiency of the operation. During the practical session participants were shown the latest equipment maintenance tools, which would allow professionals to prevent refrigerant leakage during the maintenance of equipment.
After the practical session the professionals were provided with the set of Recovery & Recycling tools on contractual basis ("Contract on Free equipment usage and donation"). The contract stipulated the submission of the quarterly reports on the quantity of recovered, recycled and/or reused refrigerants by distributed tools.
