In the third decade of November 2019, the representatives of «Livestock Development in Armenia: South-North» project applied to the National Ozone Unit of the Ministry of Environment of RA seeking professional advice.

The Project targets households involved in cattle breeding, actors of milk and meat value chains within the framework of which there is a need to obtain efficient, energy-saving and ozone- and climate-friendly refrigeration systems on a regular basis.

The National Ozone Unit further initiated the meeting on 2 December 2019, at the Ministry of Environment involving the representatives of the afore mentioned Project and the Ozone Expert Group.

The National Ozone Unit coordinator Liana Ghahramanyan opened up the meeting presenting the ozone layer issue and the protective measures undertaken so far. More than that, she mentioned the well-established cooperation with the representatives of the cold-stores, and the results of using the advanced technologies and equipment provided by the National Ozone Unit.

During the meeting the Ozone expert group answered the questions of the representatives of the «Livestock Development in Armenia: South-North»  project making the professional accent on the main features of the refrigeration systems corresponding to the qualifications above, as well as the refrigerant used and the best servicing practices.

In closing of the meeting, the National Ozone Unit expressed its readiness to continue cooperation and provide professional support during the implementation of the «Livestock Development in Armenia: South-North» project.
